You are my hiding place/
So I won't chase the things that bring death and destruction/
But I will refuge in Your instruction and in Your arms/
Because I'm safe from harm that temptation delivers to my doorstep/
And I KNOW that I will find more rest in one word of Yours than all the Sleep Country stores in the world/
I will boast in Your cross cuz at most this Earth is loss/
So there's no toss up between the eternal One and everything this world has to offer/
To make my nest outside of You is like sleeping on chewed up newspapers on an uneven bed of nails/
And all else fails to give me the peace found in touching one crease of Your garment/
But sometimes it sounds alarming, so Your word helps me refocus/
Cuz the wisdom of this age will eat me up like locusts/
You have no rival cuz You get the final say at the end and the beginning of the day/
No equal, so it's only cerebral to hide in You/
The One with infiinte glory who authors my life story because time and matter are like clay in Your hands/
So help me stay in Your plans/
You give joy and peace when the ploys of the devil cease to bring happiness/
They're like rivers and fountains the size of mountains, and although I don't quite understand them, I know a song about it usually sung by kids full of energy and excitement/
Disobedience is the opposite of faith, and not doubt/
So Your praise I will shout when I am afraid/
Because my anxieties fade when I remember that even when I don't trust You I still can trust You/
Because Your ways are higher and Your plans are greater/
Than the wind I'm chasing that leaves in me craters/
You, Lord, laid the foundation of the Earth so a day in Your presence is worth more than all the precious rocks in the world/
I will hide in the arms of love stretched wide paying the price for my crimes against the highest authority/
When I tried to rob You of Your glory/
You could have left me to my vile passions and my wicked actions/
Knowing my ways wouldn't have lasted because they would have lead me to death/
But You rescued me, and now I have a song of deliverance with my heart's every breath/
So when the world breaks me down and I feel lost in space/
I will run to You, You are my hiding place/
